i've also decided to change the look of my page because my artwork has shifted to a more graphic design kinda thing...yeah. 

i'll will probably change the look of my page soon too as well because i think the image sucks... but i have to start somewhere again.  Man! getting back into drawing and art can be frustrating!!!

Some bad news, sorta

Wow. Becoming a dad has totally changed my outlook on life. I have decided to quit the animation business all together. I'm going back to school to become a carpenter. I need a job where if, I work all day and night, I at least get paid overtime for it. Family first. I don't know when (or if ever) my blog will be updated again. Thanks to everyone who's ever commented and supported me. O'DOYLE RULES

Hiatus...Officially

Since the day I started my blog, I've hated the color schemes blogger givea ya. I just picked the one i hated the least. I recently noticed my friend Dan Helle' pimpin the bgs on his blog. It totally inspired me to juice up my own. On another note, i know a few weeks ago I said i was gonna take a break... yea that worked great. So now i think its for real. Our baby's comin any day and we are moving this weekend. I have to also work on my online portfolio, so that will cover any urges for the next while. See ya later!

the big flop!!

Sometimes, things just suck. It's my siter-in-laws 6th birthday comin up, so i decided to make her a shirt!!! at least it sounded like a good idea in my head. I tried using brushes in photoshop for the first time ever. it turned out a disaster, but it could of turned out much worse i guess. i'm really diggin these brushes, someday maybe i'll figure it out. You can tell very well but, all the brushwork was lost on the print job, because my printer isn't good enough. This is the first time I've ever done an iron on, I thought the colors would show up a little better that this!!! oh well, i guess i can't expect it to be super paper for only $1.75. and besides, she's only six, I'm sure she'll love it!!!

Rejects!

Here are a couple of designs that got 'rejected' from the recent project I'm working on. I'm not sure if i should be posting these, but i think i'm ok seeing they're not what we ended up with. My boss thought these were pushed too far, a little too angular. We ended up with something a little rounder and cuter.

Toby Demo

Well, Toby's all wrapped up.... for now . I animated this demo with the help from my friend, Chris Wieme. We had quite a low budget, so it's not all that it could be, but the producers are confident that it shows enough potential to land a deal. The demo isn't quite finished... it still needs a bit of editing and the soundtrack, but my parts done. Fingers crossed!!!

Update: the sound and editing is officially finished.........and wasn't done or decided my me. :/

well here it is all color'd up. this will probably be my last post for awhile. I have to start packing to move my pregnant wife and myself into a new house, and then have a baby soon after. I will be back eventually, and will see you when I see you!

yup, i'm a big fat liar. my boss was sick today and i had the morning off work, so i drew like a crazy mofo. I figure i might as well post while a can, because once the baby(s) come,(it could be twins still) i really WILL be too busy.

an unfinished project

i'm super duper busy, and i don't know when i'll have time to do some new stuff, so here's an old project i was gonna do about 8 months ago. it was just gonna be a piece for my demo reel with this chick and a monster. maybe someday i'll fix it up an do it, but not now. (do you see resemblances to the toby lab???)

well i found more time to spare. i was lookin at my blog and realized how shitty my old banner was. i guess i've improved, because i used to think the old one was awesome. oh well. out with the old, in with the new.
